Currently, my team is on our annual autumn Mt. Fuji photography tour. If you had to choose a single icon to symbolize Japan, Mt. Fuji would be a good choice. Commonly called Fujisan it's an incredibly beautiful mountain and Japans tallest peak, at 3,776 meters. It has been a pilgrimage site since ancient times and is 100 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. The other day while visiting Lake Kawaguchiko the trees in the maple corridor and along the seaside promenade were showing their lovely autumn colours. During the golden hour, is the best natural lighting for photography and it was a beautiful sunset. At night is the Fuji Kawaguchiko autumn leaves lighting festival, this year for the first time they are using LEDs for the illumination of the maples, the festival goes until November 23rd, and the lighting is until 10:00 p.m.
Our next group photo tour Japan is February 5 -17, 2018 snow monkeys & Hokkaido. This photo tour is the ultimate winter wonderland tour for birding, wildlife and winter landscape photography, there are a couple of spots available, hope to see you in 2018.
