Cherry blossom (Sakura) is our unofficial national flower of Japan. Flowering from February to Late May, it’s a traveling show South to North. This shot of a Mejiro/Japanese White-eye feasting on fresh nectar, from a type of sakura that blooms early every year. Usually, the 1st weeks of February these special blossoms bloom for several weeks, due to cooler temperatures. Common cheery blossoms are roughly one week, then the show of snow pebbles, begins. April has the much more pleasant weather to visit with us in Japan, February being cool, to freezing cold. This spring coming our team will be taking out a photo tour group, a few seats available:):):) Don't forget your long lens, for birding.
