Digital cameras are limited in the light tones they can capture, balancing the highlights and shadows in a scene. HDR-high-dynamic- range photography solves this problem when used moderately and correctly. In HDR imaging multiple images are taken of the same scene, each with a different exposure value. I recommend taking at least seven shots of the same scene; three shots expose for the shadows, one shot for the mid tone and three shots for the highlights. In many cases, three to five shots of the scene will suffice, but I highly recommend seven shots, due to the time and effort setting up your camera gear, and taking into consideration location. It would be a tragedy if you were on an international shoot and needed just one more underexposed shot to make the scene work in post-processing back home.
