For centuries, artisans have been mesmerized by Mount Fuji and its breathtaking beauty. Autumn is especially beautiful, with lavish displays of vibrant fall foliage and the legendary Japanese maple tree in red, yellow and orange. By daylight or moonlight, I guarantee that Mount Fuji will capture your heart and imagination, and that no one picture that you take will capture the rich emotion that Mount Fuji provides. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, it will take a thousand pictures to express your one complete emotion of photographing autumn in Mount Fuji.
Day 1, 2, 3, 4, Arrival and meet at Tokyo Haneda Airport, (HND). We travel the pilgrim’s route that artisans have used for centuries, such artists as Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai, best known for his 36 views of Mount Fuji. Our lodgings will be adjacent to one of the Fuji Five Lakes. While enjoying your evening bath, you may view Fujisan as well as either Yamanaka, Kawaguchi Saiko, Shoji or Motosu Lake. On route to Itchiku Kubota art museum, Sengen Shrine Chureito Pagoda, Fuji-Kawaguchiko autumn leaves festival, Momiji corridor Yuyake no Nagisa fall foliage festival. Our itinerary includes ‘aokigahara the Sea Of Trees,’ then to the 5th station on mt fuji, plus Shiraito Falls, Ice Caves, and Saiko Wildbird forest Park.
Day 5, 6, 7, After breakfast and checkout at our accommodations, we journey to Fujisan-Hongu Sengen-Taisha Grand Shrine in Shizuoka Prefecture which is the head shrine of the 1300 Sengen Shrines throughout Japan, including the entirety of Mount Fuji from the 8th stage upwards is part of the shrine grounds. After a fulfilling day of fall colors in autumn with architectural shrine and temple photography, we make our way to our lodgings in Hakone. Day 6, 7, we will depart our lodgings pre-dawn to capture Mt. Fuji when it is truly spectacular, during the blue hour into the golden hour, then we return to our lodgings for breakfast then continue on with a full day exploring Lake Ashinoko in its autumn vibrance. The Hakone checkpoint stone-paved 400-year-old Tokaido offers us the majestic fall scenery, and while on the path, we will refresh ourselves at Amazake Chaya tea house serving travellers for more than 350 years. Highlights include: Komagate Ropeway, Owakudani, Hakone Shrine, Odawara Castle and the Enoura Observatory Hiroshi Sugimoto, plus more.
Day 8, Day 8, Wake well before sunrise, to capture Mt. Fuji at a breathtaking viewpoint, in the highlands of Hakone. Then return to our lodgings for a leisurely breakfast. Next we will stop at Odawara Castle have lunch and walk the grounds of the castle. Drop off Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) in the afternoon. Thank you, and we look forward to our next adventure together.
